How to Throw a Safe Holiday Party in 2020
Use “new normal” social precautions to keep everyone safe:
- Keep the guest list small so that everyone has a bit more space than usual. Our typical events now involve 10-20 people. And they often stay within family and friends who have seen each other regularly.
- Have invitees self-isolate for 10-14 days before the event, seeing fewer people and always wearing a mask in public. In addition, they can take a test just before the event (with enough time to obtain the results.)
- Remind everyone not to come if they don’t feel well, or if they may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or if they themselves are at elevated risk.
- Ask everyone to wash their hands often for at least 20 seconds and to also use plenty of hand sanitizer during the event.
- If we are the event planner, we provide plenty of PPE.
- We also clean and sanitize all commonly touched surfaces and any shared items between uses.
