What We Do

The name Handheld Catering embodies our philosophy on food. We believe the food we eat should be plucked from the earth by the hands of farmers, hand-checked for quality by purveyors, and lovingly prepared into something unforgettable by the hands of the chef. That’s why at Handheld Catering we follow the Farm-to-Fork approach.


What sets us apart from other Bay Area caterers is that we have the capability to cook all our food onsite with our pop up kitchen, guaranteeing the freshest food possible. Once our staff arrives, we’ll build a pop up kitchen out of sight so your guests never even know we’re there! Say goodbye to cold, soggy food. At Handheld, we believe fresh is the best!


Whether you need catering for something casual or formal, we do it all! Events include but are not limited to corporate catering, festival food vending, weddings, wedding rehearsals, family functions, and catering for large group events of up to 1,000 people. For formal event catering, we offer an extravagant plated service with high-end ingredients.


If you’re worried about planning an event, don’t be! Our event coordinator will be there to take all the stress out of your event and handle the details that will make your event memorable. Chef Daniel Figone

As a Bay Area native, Chef and owner Dan Figone focuses on flavors that reflect California’s seasons. He is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at Le Cordon Bleu, San Francisco and has worked in several high-end restaurants. His broad culinary training paired with his experiences travelling the world have contributed to his mastery of different cuisines. He’ll gladly work with you to create the perfect menu for your event.
