Handheld Catering now offers family-style meal delivery for families and small gatherings in San Jose, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. The delivery service will run seven days a week, with 48-hour delivery. As we grow this service we hope to expand the communities which we can serve.
Handheld Catering Family-Style Delivery Menus Updated Weekly
Here are the elements of the family meal service:
- One menu per week will be posted from which to choose items.
- Each weekly menu will have farm-to- table salads, entrees, sides and sweets.
- Each item ordered will serve 4. But you are always welcome to order more for the following day or two or whatever. We prefer it that way! 😉
- The menu will be changed every Thursday at 5 pm. So, the deadline to place orders for the current week’s menu will be Thursday at 5 pm, for delivery by Saturday by 5 pm.
- There will be a minimum order of $50 and a $10 delivery fee.
- There will also be free pickup offered between 12 pm – 5 pm at Handheld Catering’s main kitchen.

Handheld Catering Family-Style Meal Ordering Details
- We will deliver daily between 12 pm and 5 pm. The customer indicates which day they prefer when ordering.
- Orders must be placed 48 hours prior to the delivery date. At this time we cannot offer next-day service.
- Orders may be placed any time prior to 5 pm. Orders placed after 5 pm will roll to the next day (so three days prior to delivery date.)
Example: An order placed before 5 pm Monday could be delivered by 5 pm Wednesday. An order placed after 5 pm Monday could be delivered by 5 pm Thursday. This order pattern ensures that we can buy all the right produce to prepare your meals with the high-quality ingredients that you deserve and expect from Handheld Catering.
As we gain experience with the ordering patterns for this new service, we may be able to add next-day orders. But we prefer to expand into home delivery with care and learn how customers and clients respond. We are all working to live through this pandemic period, finding new ways to serve our community. We may very well retain boxed meal services and family-style meal services even as our local economy opens back up over the next few months!
No-Contact Delivery is Included in Handheld Family-Style Meal Delivery Service
To keep our customers safe during the COVID-19 emergency, we will be using all the necessary No-Contact Delivery procedures to deliver your orders. Prepayment and optional pre-tipping will make the contactless delivery even more efficient. The delivery expert will notify you when they have arrived to deliver the order, by text, phone call or visual signals as you prefer. So keep your phones handy on your delivery date! There will be a place on the website order form to enter special delivery instructions if you desire, including how and where to drop the order off and alert you of its arrival.
Please note: You must be home to accept the delivery! We will not leave deliveries unattended in front of homes, apartments or offices.
