All That Jazz!
The San Jose Jazz Summer Fest is this August 10th through 12th and this is the 18th year for the event. This is an extremely affordable event with Adult All Stages tickets averaging only $30-$40 and VIP passes for all 3 days is less than $400 when purchased in advance.
What started out with a single stage in 1990, has blossomed into one of the most important music festivals in the nation with over 100 performances from the best in jazz, R&B, blues, funk, zydeco, and much more. With both indoor and outdoor stages, the San Jose Summer Fest has something for everyone. International and Latin artists, a Main Stage located in the Plaza de Cesar Chavez park, a ‘Jazz Beyond’ stage that has young jazz artists pushing the limits of the art form, a Blues/Big Easy stage, a Salsa stage an more – there’s so much music that your dancing shoes might get a few holes worn through them before the weekend is over.
More Than Just Music!
Of course there’s more than just music! The San Jose Jazz Summer Fest has been described as ‘the perfect summer experience’ – complete with untouchable weather, fantastic food, music-related community events, wine and microbrews, and a family fun zone including fun activities for the kids. While the evening brings adult-themed activities such as a free club crawl.
With musical guests still being named, the lineup is already quite impressive. Billy Valentine, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Aaron Lington, Evan Thomas Blues Band, Goapele, Emmet Cohen Trio, Jackie Gage, Kool & The Gang, and much, much more have already signed on and you can visit the lineup page for a complete-for-now list. Some of the performances do require the ‘All Stages’ or higher passes, so if there is someone you are determined to check out be sure to visit the lineup page to ensure you purchase the correct ticket(s).
